Jenny Anderson, Regional Director for BirthFit Bend
Hi! I am bringing the BirthFit movement to Bend because I want to see a community within our community where we support, educate, care for and most importantly empower women in the motherhood transition.
There is a great network of support in Bend who are behind me in this endeavor: Labor & Delivery Nurses, Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, Obstetricians, Midwives, Massage Therapists, Yoga Teachers, Fitness Trainers, Lactation Consultants, Doulas, Cranial-Sacral Therapists, and more!
More about me: I'm 6'1", have a loud laugh, a bawdy sense of humor, and own three and a half horses (he really is that tiny). I have worked for Hard Rock in Hollywood, a rodeo stock contractor and a fine wine importer. I loved them all. You can literally find me at the rodeo, drinking wine, and rocking out. My family calls me Bird/Birdie. Find me on Instagram: @birdie_in_bend
My Motherhood Story
My husband and I got married in 2014. He has a son from a previous marriage who was 13 at the time and so we agreed if we were going to have kids together, we wanted to have them sooner rather than later. We were really quite good at getting pregnant, but not so good at keeping pregnant. We have had two early miscarriages, one angel baby boy, and two beautiful girls: Mac age two and Grace five months (as of writing this). I had hoped for a midwife, but due to my complex situation, we had to go with an OB. While our OB has been wonderful, I always grieved the loss of the holistic approach, the in-depth conversations at each appointment, and the more comprehensive postpartum care that midwifery offers. Which lead me directly to wanting to provide that for the moms of Central Oregon!
